In 2013, Freshwater Community Bank® Branch introduced its Annual Tertiary Scholarship Awards Program.
With outstanding response from local secondary schools and a high calibre of candidates for the 2013 Tertiary Scholarship Awards, Freshwater Community Bank has committed a total of $50,000 to the program on an annual basis.
Developed throughout 2012 with local high schools in the Warringah and Manly area, seven students were nominated to receive the Awards valued at $5,000 each, for their future university studies.
In addition to these awards, Freshwater Community Bank® Branch has also developed the Student of the Year, Ken Ward Memorial Scholarship, which presents an additional $10,000 to one of the students for their second and third year of undergraduate study.
The following schools are included as part of the program and are eligible to nominate students for the Awards:
- Northern Beaches Secondary College (Freshwater Campus)
- Northern Beaches Secondary College (Mackellar Campus)
- Northern Beaches Secondary College (Manly Selective Campus)
- Northern Beaches Secondary College (Cromer Campus)
- Northern Beaches Secondary College (Balgowlah Campus)
- St. Augustine’s College, Brookvale
- St. Luke’s Grammar School, Dee Why
- Stella Maris College, Manly
- St. Paul’s College, Manly
To be eligible for nomination for the Tertiary Scholarship Awards, students need to live within the Warringah & Manly local geographical area and display both academic skills and community involvement.
Principals of the participating schools are required to nominate the student they believe to be most eligible for the Award by using pre-determined criteria. These details can be found in the supporting document located via the links at the bottom of this page.
Nominations are then reviewed by an independent adjudication panel which consists of academic professionals, government representatives and news and media identities.
